Save, Restore, and Export a Font Studio Project

Browser persistence is convenient, but a downloaded project backup is the reliable way to continue work after clearing site data or changing devices.

One source font per project

Lipi identifies the source TTF by SHA-256. Choosing a different source creates or opens another project instead of replacing glyph IDs and shaping structures underneath existing designs.

Download a project backup

Save project creates a .lipiproject file containing the verified source font and saved designs. Keep that file in your normal backup location.

Continue and export

Import the project file to resume editing. TTF export rebuilds changed outlines, while WOFF2 export compresses the validated TTF locally for web use.
