01 · The Reason
Our literature and fonts should never fall behind.
I am Ravikirana Byadarahalli, founder and CEO of RV Anveshana LLP. My love for Kannada made one problem impossible to ignore: decades of valuable regional literature, historical records, and familiar typeface designs were trapped in legacy ASCII and ISFOC encodings that modern operating systems and web engines cannot understand.
When I searched online for solutions, I was appalled by what I found. Countless websites claimed they could convert Indic documents, but in reality, they either did not work at all, were fake shells made just to farm clicks, or ran broken logic that corrupted conjuncts and ruined valuable text. Seeing typists, students, and authors struggle with broken tools was deeply disheartening.
That frustration drove me to build a truly genuine, authentic platform. We spent months meticulously reverse-engineering font tables and engineering calibrated WebAssembly state machines. The result is Lipi: an honest, free, private tool where conversion actually works flawlessly, ensuring regional literature remains searchable, portable, and permanently accessible.

Every single byte conversion, font inspection, and text rendering pipeline runs entirely inside your local browser using high-performance compiled WebAssembly. Your text never leaves your device, guaranteeing complete confidentiality and lightning-fast offline-capable speeds.

From Karnataka roots to a global language platform.
RV Anveshana LLP is an independent software and product engineering company founded in Karnataka. Ravikirana’s experience spans hardware and IoT communication, power and automotive systems, web and desktop applications, AI, automation, and DevOps.
“Anveshana” means exploration or discovery. Lipi began with Kannada love, but its architecture is designed to welcome all writing systems, font libraries, and conversion tools. The goal is a useful global home for languages without losing the local care that started it.
